WEDNESDAY UPDATE: Anxiety Acres at BBFF, New Column & More

  • Great news! Anxiety Acres is going to be screened at its first film festival, the Bare Bones Film Festival in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  Not sure if we’re going to be able to go yet, but we’re tempted.  Date: April 2010. Updates to follow.  Congrats to our stars, Mike and Heather, and to our music man, Mike Ricketts of OnYou.

  • Our latest feature screenplay, The Unlovables, is getting the full Fink treatment this week.  We’re doing rewrites based on notes from the BlueCat Screenwriting Competition as well as other trusted friends and readers.  Looking forward to sharing this script with producers via different avenues, including InkTip and Virtual PitchFest.  Special thanks to Script Doctor Eric for helping us spruce up our query letter!  Know a director or producer who’s in the mood for a dark comedy? Let us know!

  • Lastly, in April we’re going to launch a new column on the Film Snobbery websiteFilm Snobbery Live (Tues, 10pm EST), host Nic Baisley, producer Jeff Koenig, and co-host Jerry Cavallaro have been great supporters of King is a Fink.  They gave us our first review, our first live interview (QIFF talk w/ @mattofallmedia, anyone?), and countless hours of fun in the Film Snobbery chat.  We’re excited to partner with them.  While we can’t tell you yet what the column’s about yet, we’d love to know if you can guess.  Let us narrow the options for you.

Are we gonna write about TILT family road trips? No...

Staring contests that Julie's lost? No...

Jessica's short-lived nursing career? No...

That’s it!  No more clues.  What do YOU think our Film Snobbery column is going to be about?
